The concepts of ‘nation’ and ‘society’ evade our attempts at definition.
The social sciences require an elucidatory definition of society.
Sociologists are focused on the empirical within society but not on what
society is.
Ragnar Stara's new book A Philosophy of Society 2024 and Human Society 2021 showes how society can be defined based on Uuno Saarnio's logical categories of the whole and field of toleration (Leibniz).
